missrook,
...i didn't know that you had posted. i guess you decided to pull a 'minus the bars.'
* Why do we ask why, when we usually already know the answer?
...i do this sometimes. i only do it because i am trying to see if we are thinking the same.
* Why can't we have the love we want?
...good question. damn good question.
* Why do we always complain, no matter how good things are?
...human nature...i suppose.
* Why do lovers cheat?
...temptation, and i think because they can and want to cheat.
* Why do we have to lose before we appreciate?
...another good question. i have no answer.
* Why do we do things we know are wrong?
...because we have sinned.
* Why does love have to hurt?
...love doesn't hurt. always remember that.
* Why do good things have to end?
...i wish i knew.
ah ha! You know I like to keep you surprised! LOL
love doesn't hurt???
Ok, well why does love or loving someone often result in hurt?
i can't really give a clear-cut answer to your question. i just know that when i love her, there is nothing in the nothing that makes me or allows me to hurt her.
in those times where i've hurt her, i can't reall say that i loved her. i probably said i did. but if i truly did i don't see how i could have hurt her.
I have to get in on this one. Lord knows I should be working right now :) Ok. . .
1. Why do we ask why, when we usually already know the answer?
Let's see...I guess I sometimes do this to allow the other person to put it all on the table. This way, it can not be said that I "assumed" anything.
2. Why can't we have the love we want?
a. We are not looking for the love we need (God).
b. Even if we received the love that we currently claim to want, that human imperfection that we all own eventually creeps in: the inability to be satisfied. We'll always want more. Therefore, that love will likely transform into "not enough". So, maybe the question is "Why can't we recognize the love we want?"
3. Why do we always complain, no matter how good things are?
This piggy-backs off of the previous question. Hmmm...I have no idea.
4. Why do lovers cheat?
I'd have to say "rebellion". Rebelling against the expectations, responsibility, mistreatment or the lack of attention, lack of intimacy and lack of understanding (to name a few). Cheating is not my cup of tea, but I'm human and have been tempted. Usually, some of these were the emotions I had to fight through to avoid the situation that creates your question #5.
5. Why do we have to lose before we appreciate?
Denial that it could ever be lost.
6. Why do we do things we know are wrong?
Again, I say "rebellion". Maybe not for the same reasons that I listed before, but I think it still applies. It seems like "no" is an extremely common word in the world. Maybe we knowingly do some wrong things to rebel against the "you can'ts" to have a moment or two of "I can and will".
7. Why does love have to hurt?
*looks at everyone else for the answer*
When you find out, please let me know :)
8. Why do good things have to end?
Because they were never meant to last and be the replacement for filling voids that only God can fill.
That's my two cents...
MissRook, what are your responses to these questions?
Ok A Voice From the Battlefield, I can definitely dig ... the inability to be satisfied. We'll always want more. Therefore, that love will likely transform into "not enough". So, maybe the question is "Why can't we recognize the love we want?"
Ok my responses, short and sweet...
Why do we ask why, when we usually already know the answer?
-It somehow doesn't have the same affect until you hear it.
Why can't we have the love we want?
-Usually what we want is not what we need and thankfully the Lord's will outweighs our own.
Why do we always complain, no matter how good things are?
-I truly believe it is in our human nature to be discontent. And it takes a very conscious effort along with some daily mediation to fight that.
Why do lovers cheat?
-Many reasons. Discontentment, selfishness, and often a lack of lessons (not the one's you learn from your parents, rather the one's life tend to teach you)
Why do we have to lose before we appreciate?
-B/c we truly do not recognize the presence and value of something until it is obvious that it served a purpose in our life.
Why do we do things we know are wrong?
-B/c we usually formulate the needed justification w/i our mind. We convince ourselves that its not really wrong...And then some of us just like to go against the grain! LOL
Why does love have to hurt?
-Wow...I don't know. Maybe love in itself doesn't hurt. I think when we truly give love, others actions sometimes reflect badly on love.
Why do good things have to end?
-Not always. I think whatever we believe and speak is destine to happen. However, I still believe good things can last forever.
-B/c we truly do not recognize the presence and value of something until it is obvious that it served a purpose in our life.
real talk. like a mugg.
missrook, i like your thought process. can you cook? LOL.
Can I cook?
Like a mugg. LOL
